Ray Trenching

Ray Trenching to save a dying oak tree during the 1999 drought

Ray Trenching is the process of installing trenches, allowing irrigation, aeration, reducing soil compation and allowing nutrients and oxygen availability enhancement. Trenching pattern radiates out from the tree like spokes in a wheel. The trench is refilled with organic matter, fertilizer and ammended soil. This process leaves the perfect environment for healthy roots to grow. The entire area is cleaned up and in just a few weeks the trenches are hard to spot.
